Two nights in Lynnhaven
Modified By Boats on 6/7/2008 8:50:56 AM)

Fished by myself Monday  evening the 2nd.  Lots of wind & high tide  had to use a bait caster w spinner bait.  Plenty of bait in the water and one nice Drum. Saw more but poling alone could not connect on Fly's

Friday back with my Ace caster on the bow.  Dead low tide no water moving, no bait and no drum either.  Dock lights on the way back saved the trip though. Stripers hitting nice on Copper drum Fly's.  For Drum need some current I guess.  Couple of Yak guys out bait fishing and did not see them connect either.

Re: Two nights in Lynnhaven

Past experience taught me that just as the tide starts out, where you are fishing, may be better. You do need moving water and I would fish the entire outgoing tide. Just my 2 cents

p.s. I never do much in Lynnhaven on any kind of easterly wind.

Re: Two nights in Lynnhaven

Agree lack of moving water was the problem.  Of course we went when we could go.  Last night best water would have been after Midnight and when it's hot that is the best time of all.
